What is the Brighton i360?
The i360 is a vertical cable car ride that carries visitors in a large doughnut-shaped glass viewing pod up a tall slender tower. It was designed by Marks Barfield Architects — the same team behind the London Eye — and opened on 4 August 2016. The tower is built on the original entrance to the historic West Pier.
The Views from the Top
From the top of the i360, visitors can see an astonishing panorama including: Brighton and Hove seafront stretching in both directions, the South Downs National Park to the north, the English Channel to the south, Beachy Head (17 miles east), and on exceptionally clear days, even the Isle of Wight (66 miles west).
Inside the Pod
The viewing pod is spacious and fully enclosed with floor-to-ceiling glass panels, making it comfortable in all weather conditions. There is a bar serving cocktails, wines, and soft drinks, and the pod can accommodate up to 200 passengers. The ride takes approximately 20-25 minutes in total.

Ticket prices vary depending on the time of day and whether you book in advance. Booking online in advance is recommended, especially during peak summer months and weekends. Best Time to Visit
For the clearest views, visit on a sunny day with good visibility. Sunrise and sunset rides offer particularly magical experiences. The evening rides during winter are popular for seeing the city lights and starling murmurations over the West Pier ruins below.
